Challenges Abroad Australia Pty. Ltd (Challenges Abroad Australia) – Environmental Policy

Challenges Abroad recognises that it has a reasonability to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. We are committed to sustainable business practices. We have dedicated initiatives to lower and offset our carbon footprint and strive towards being a carbon natural organisation. These initiatives include:

  1. Reducing paper waste by implementing printing policies – such as not printing emails/documents useless essential.
  2. Recycling any paper waste.
  3. Limiting national travel by promoting home-working and conducting meetings virtually where possible.
  4. Switching off light and electric equipment when not in use.
  5. Taking energy consumption and efficiency into account when purchasing new products.
  6. Favouring environmentally friendly products, where possible.
  7. Evaluate the possibility of renting/sharing office equipment items before purchasing new products.

Challenges Abroad Australia measure, monitor and report on environmental data in accordance with local and national laws and regulations.

We also have a Partner Code of Conduct which sets out our expectations from our partners in relation to environmental matters and encourages partners to;

  • Actively avoid harming, and seek to protect the environment in which they operate;
  • Strive to continuously improve environmental and resource management;
  • Support Challenges Abroad Australia’s environmental initiative to lower and offset our carbon footprint; and
  • Measure, monitor and report on environmental data in accordance with local and national laws and regulations.

Concerns & Whistleblowing

We are committed to an environment where our employees, partners, and customers can raise concerns about any actual or suspected breach of this code. Concerned parties can raise concerns via email to [email protected]
Challenges Abroad Australia is committed to protecting employees when disclosing malpractice and will ensure that all disclosures made in compliance with whistleblowing procedures will be treated confidentially and without fear of retaliation. It is by receiving and evaluating feedback and maintaining a culture of compliance that we can assess the effectiveness of our practices and procedures.

Review

Challenges Abroad Australia commits to periodically reviewing this policy to ensure we continue to play our part in combating the climate crisis. Challenges Abroad Australia shall take into consideration: changes in legislation, legal advice as necessary and any other requirements to which the company subscribes, to ensure the adequacy, suitability and continuing effectiveness of this policy.
