One of the most pressing issues is waste management and plastic pollution. Rapid urbanization and population growth have led to an increase in waste production, and inadequate waste management infrastructure results in pollution, health hazards, and littered landscapes. Plastic waste, in particular, clogs waterways, harms wildlife, and contaminates ecosystems. Did you know: plastics are often disposed of by burning, further contributing to the already hazardous levels of air pollution.
As a participant on this program, you will be at the forefront of change as you work on some of our long-term development projects, aimed at tackling environmental issues in Nepal. You will be supported by our team on the ground while you:
Participate in tree planting activities to help reduce air pollution in the local area, as well as offsetting the carbon emissions of your travel! *
Facilitate educational workshops in the community that raise environmental awareness and discuss the importance of sustainability!
You could focus on the long-term impacts of single use plastics, benefits of recycling and ways to reduce their carbon footprint.
Become an ambassador for change by organising community clean ups with our local partner schools!
